Coseismic Stress Change and Viscoelastic Relaxation after the 2008 Great Sichuan Earthquake

چکیده

Long-term stress accumulation influenced by coseismic changes and postseismic viscoelastic relaxation is considered critical to triggering giant earthquakes. Nevertheless, how the increase interrupted aftershocks it influences megaseismic cycle remain enigmatic. In this study, based on Mohr–Coulomb failure criterion at nucleated segments of 2008 great Sichuan earthquake, variation associated with four M > 6 was calculated for period from 2010 2017. The results show that (1) spatial distribution change correlated rupture pattern large events has a fundamental impact subsequent earthquakes (2) leads increased Coulomb northern southern edges seismogenic Longmenshan fault, which in enhanced fault instability potential future events.

Factors Associated with Resilience of Adult Survivors Five Years after the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake in China

Given the paucity of quantitative empirical research on survivors' resilience and its predictors in the context of long-term recovery after disasters, we examined how resilience predictors differed by gender among adult survivors five years after the Sichuan earthquake. This was a cross-sectional survey study of adult survivors (N = 495; aged 18-60) living in reconstructed communities five year...
